The influential voice for Optometry
Optometry Australia is the peak professional body for optometrists. If it’s important to optometry, it’s important to you and therefore, important to us.
Membership of our organisation enables us to advance our sector through the delivery of a range of activities designed specifically to lead, engage and promote optometry, optometrists and community eye health. The more we can work together the more influence we can have over the future of our profession.
Since our establishment 98 years ago, Optometry Australia has remained the only professional organisation committed to supporting individual optometrists throughout all career stages. We are 100% owned and driven by individual optometrists as members, making it our mission to champion quality eye health services for all Australians. As the peak professional body for optometrists, when we speak, key influencers listen which is why we are effective at delivering the necessary policy changes that protect, grow and progress our sector.
Together with our members, we have successfully and tirelessly worked to advance Australia as a world leader in optometric services and patient care and in so doing we have built a vibrant community of optometrists. Working closely with other healthcare professions, we promote a greater understanding of our profession’s essential role in broader healthcare management.
Through our national network of State offices, we are here to always support you, making it easier for you to be the best optometrist you can be. The benefits of membership are many and the value we deliver, extensive. We encourage you to lead with us, to engage with us and to promote with us.
