Australia’s largest community of optometrists
Optometry Australia represents the largest community of optometrists in Australia. We provide the support, security and connections that enable our members to succeed personally and professionally.
Since our establishment 99 years ago, Optometry Australia has remained the only professional organisation committed to supporting individual optometrists throughout all career stages. As we are 100% owned by our members, it is our mission to champion quality eye health services for all Australians. As the peak professional body for optometrists, when we speak key influencers listen and this is why we are effective at delivering the necessary policy changes that protect, grow and progress our sector.
Membership strengthens our voice and enables us to advance our sector through the delivery of a range of activities designed specifically to lead, engage and promote optometry, optometrists and community eye health and vision care. The more we can work together the more influence we can have over the future of our profession.
Together with our members, we have successfully and tirelessly worked to advance Australia as a world leader in optometric services and patient care. Working closely with other healthcare professions, we promote a greater understanding of our profession’s essential role in broader healthcare management.
Through our national network of State offices, we are here to always support you, making it easier for you to be the best optometrist you can be. The benefits of membership are many and the value we deliver, extensive. We encourage you to lead with us, to engage with us and to promote with us.
