Optometry Australia members can help drive business to their practice by creating their own free optometrist profile page on our Good vision for life website.

In a valuable new service for members, Optometry Australia is enabling optometrists to create their own profile page on its consumer eye health website, Good vision for life.

In a recent email to members, Optometry Australia CEO Lyn Brodie thanked members for their ongoing support of the Good vision for life campaign.

‘As highlighted in the recent member survey, we were pleased to find that most members were not only aware of the campaign but are rating it very highly for its value in delivering and promoting optometry and community eye health awareness with the aim of motivating regular eye examinations,’ she said.

‘We are delighted to announce this next Good vision for life initiative aimed at maximising your exposure to prospective patients via our campaign website, www.goodvisionforlife.com.au.

‘A key feature of the Good vision for life website, which can be found on every page of the site, is the Find an Optometrist search function. All of our members are listed and are searchable by consumers who are encouraged to make an appointment with an optometrist near them.

‘We are pleased to advise that now all Optometry Australia members will not only receive a basic listing, but you can also have your own individual profile page.

‘This page will enable you to display a profile picture, your practice details and allow you to elaborate on the services you offer.

‘You will have the option of including a career profile, social media links and some light Q&As to add a little personality. Should you choose to leave any fields blank, this content will simply not appear. Please see this example.

‘Having your own unique profile page on Good vision for life will allow you to benefit from the national marketing efforts we undertake to drive awareness of eye health issues and motivate people to go to the site to find and book an optometrist near them.

‘Your profile page will enable prospective patients to learn a bit more about you, and to understand the services that you provide, before making an appointment.

‘Simply logon to the Member Portal where you will find a new tab for profile pages. Fill out the template and we will ensure that it goes live.’

Driving awareness

Optometry Australia continues to drive awareness and traffic to Good vision for life via a diverse media campaign including radio, video-on-demand such as catch up TV, and extensive digital advertising.

‘We encourage you to go into your Member Portal and update your details as soon as possible so you can reap the benefits of this extra profiling to consumers. We have endeavoured to make it a very simple and straight-forward process, but if you have any problems, please contact national@optometry.org.au,’ Lyn said.

‘We look forward to building a critical mass of members utilising this valuable service, and we trust you will reap the benefits quickly. We will also be in touch in the near future with other exciting benefits surrounding these profile pages.’

To create your profile, members should go to Optometry Australia’s member portal and go to the ‘My Membership’ tab then click ‘edit my profile.’ Scroll to the bottom to the Good vision for life section and click ‘add profile.’
