Optometry Australia will support two early career optometrists to develop their work in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
Two bursaries are being offered to attend the Close the Gap for Vision by 2020: Strengthen & Sustain – National Conference 2019 in Alice Springs for optometrists within 10 years of graduation who are interested in developing their careers in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.
Optometry Australia is calling for expressions of interest which outline the individual’s reason for wanting to attend the conference and any experience to date in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health. EOIs should be sent to email@example.com by Friday 21 December 2018. Successful applicants will be advised mid-January 2019, said Optometry Australia’s General Manager, Policy, Skye Cappuccio today.
“This aligns with a key focus of our internal Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health Advisory Group, which is helping nurture the development of a sustainable optometry workforce focused on Aboriginal eye care,” Skye said.
The $1,200 bursary is intended to contribute to the recipient’s travel, accommodation and conference registration.
