Community Service Announcements
Members can now access a series of radio Community Service Announcements to help promote eye health to your community and to encourage visits to your practice. Please support the Association in its effort to promote awareness about vision care and eye health in Australia by downloading and sending these CSAs to your local radio stations.
For a list of community broadcasting stations in your state, visit cbonline.org.au and go to ‘stations’ on the left-hand menu. These stations are all community-based and regularly accept CSAs with a non-profit and good-will focus such as ours. Alternatively there are many other radio stations who may be willing to run your CSA at no cost or for a fee. Search ‘radio stations’ in your area at yellowpages.com.au
Members have a choice between 15- and 30-second CSAs. The 15-second versions are designed to be used in conjunction with the 30-second versions, as a reinforcement of the campaign message. There is also a 24-second version which provides 6-seconds of space for you to personalise the CSA with your own practice details. Your radio station should easily be able to add this information - using either your own voice or an announcer - to the end of the CSA. For example, "Call XYZ Optometrists on 1234 5678" or "This message is brought to you by XYZ optometrists, supporting good vision" (the latter may help ensure the announcement remains a CSA and won't be considered a 'sponsorship' announcment i.e. an advertisement).
Read or listen to the scripts below and choose what works best for your community! The files may be sent as an email attachment, or download and burn them to a disk/save to a USB and take them in to your local radio station.
Depending on your phone system, you may also be able to play the files in intervals as part of your on hold music.
Contact us for more information.
*Note: You will need to have Windows Media Player to play the files.
