AHPRA Audit Information 2018

Optometry Australia has developed this information page to assist optometrists who have been randomly selected for the 2018 compliance audit. The information sheet below contains a detailed walkthrough of the steps required to make this process as painless as possible, while a brief summary of steps is included on this webpage. 

Audit information sheet

 To meet the audit requirements for CPD:

A) Download your Audit CPD certificate from the CPD section of the member portal.

1)    Change date of the CPD activities displayed to the audit period (2015/17)

2)    Click ‘Download Audit Certificate’. NB: you may have to t allow pop-ups in your browser software.

3)    Print hardcopy or save as pdf.

4)    If you find in the detailed CPD summary that you seem to be missing CPD points contact the CPD provider for assistance (the most common issue found relates to your OA number being listed incorrectly by the CPD Provider for the respective CPD Activity – this is easily rectified).

B) All optometrists also need to complete the learning plan (along with any non-accredited CPD points you are counting) on the OBA CPD portfolio template provided below.  We suggest completing at least 5 learning needs on this template.

C) You need to provide a copy of your CPR certificate:

> The CPR certificate can be expired but a course must have been completed between 1 Dec 2014 – 30 Nov 2017

> If you completed a course with an external provider (eg. Surf Life Saving) and have lost  the certificate, you need to contact the provider to obtain a replacement.

> If you completed a course through a State Division and have lost the certificate – please contact the state office as per below:

Professional Indemnity Insurance

> You must provide evidence of PII arrangements which meet the requirements of the Board’s PII registration standard from 1 Dec 2016 to current.

> Optometry Australia will supply you with a letter confirming that you have had continuous coverage under our AVANT PII Policy from 1 December 2016 to current.  You will need to email audithelp@optometry.org.au  to receive this confirmation.  If you have not held continuous OA membership over this period (eg due to maternity leave etc) please note this in your email. Due to the volume of requests during this period please allow 3 working days to receive your confirmation as we have to verify each membership with your state division.
