National Professional Services Manager
Optometry Australia advocates with politicians and key decision-makers in government to ensure that remuneration for optometrists is fair and sustainable.
We argue that remuneration arrangements for optometry should be centred on the delivery of clinical services, and that optometrists should be afforded the right to set their own fees under Medicare to reflect the true cost of primary eye-care services, as is the case for other health-care providers. We advocate that a viable Optometric Medicare Benefits Schedule is essential to support the sustainable delivery of primary eye care.
