As part of OV/SA’s focus on supporting and providing services to a vital and vibrant community of optometrists, we are proud to again offer the OV/SA post graduate travel grants.

As I am sure you are all aware, this year, OV/SA is thrilled to be hosting the most credentialed and largest annual optometry Clinical Conference in the Southern Hemisphere in Melbourne- O=MEGA23/WCO4. Subsequently, in 2023, we will be offering two grants, each worth $500 to assist with the cost of presenting at this conference.

You may request reimbursement for costs that have already been paid for, but not undertaken. This may include costs such as, conference registration and travel/accommodation for the conference.

Applications must be made using OV/SA’s postgraduate travel grants 2023 application form 

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must be a current member of OV/SA.

Applications must be received on the OV/SA’s postgraduate travel grant application form.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • the research is relevant to optometry and vision science
  • the applicant has the support of their university for the proposed activity
  • the applicant is willing to report on their experience
  • the applicant is able to effectively represent OV/SA

Applications will be assessed by a panel comprising two OV/SA Directors and the OV/SA CEO.

Applicants who have previously received a post-graduate travel grant in the past are not eligible to apply. 

Key dates
Applications close on Wednesday 7 June 2023 at 5pm.
Applicants will be notified of the panel’s decision in late June 2023
