Optometry Australia has exhibited for the first time at the annual Specsavers Clinical Conference by invitation from the multinational corporation.

National CEO Genevieve Quilty attended, with state organisation CEOs Andrew McKinnon (Optometry NSW/ACT), Pete Haydon (Optometry Victoria), Tony Martella (Optometry WA) and retiring CEO Geoff Squibb (Optometry Tasmania).

The fifth Specsavers conference was held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 10-11 September. Specsavers’ professional services team hosted an event to welcome guests at the Gallery of Modern Art.

The Saturday conference program included a pathology management stream and a paediatrics stream. All speakers in the Sunday full-day program were Fellows of RANZCO.

The exhibition in which Optometry Australia had a stand was held only on Sunday.

Ms Quilty also met with Young Optometrists NSW/ACT members who were attending the Specsavers conference.
