Learning Objectives

  • To identify macular disorders that can mimic other more common presentations.
  • To know when to refer disorders of the macular for a retinal opinion and how urgently.
  • To identify the signs and symptoms of peripheral retinal disorders.
  • To have improved skills in distinguishing between which peripheral retinal disorders need treatment and which can be monitored.
  • Identify structures on an OCT and explain to a patient how OCT works
  • Understand the emerging role of OTCA in management of macular and retinal disorders
  • Identify the structures of the eye affected by diabetes.
  • To have an increased understanding of current and emerging treatments in diabetic eye disease.
