To develop a range of safe prescribing practices for common diseases presenting to optometric practice. 2. To understand which medication prescribing scenarios present a high risk of adverse events. 3. To develop a range of management strategies to deal with clinical scenarios or medication adverse outcomes

Understand the range of sun related ocular surface changes and the influence of solar radiation on the risk of these developing. 2. Be able to recognise the features of ocular surface lesions which are associated with cancerous transformation. 3. Be able to describe the range of current and emerging treatment options for ocular surface neoplasia.

Understand the limitations of cataract surgery as a refractive procedure with current technologies. 2. Develop an awareness of the range of management options available. Emerging treatment options will also be discussed. 3. Discussed the therapeutic issues and patient counselling involved in pre-, intra- and post operative cataract surgery care

To introduce modern glaucoma medical treatment which is clinically applicable in the near future eg: ROCK inhibitors, iDose 3. To gain insight into the benefits and risks of various Glaucoma Surgical techniques
