Optometry Virtually Connected, one of the region’s leading optometry virtual conferences, is now open to registrations.

The 2.5-day conference and product showcase is being held entirely online from 18-20 June 2021.

Optometry Virtually Connected was created by Optometry Australia in 2020. It brings together some of the best educators to deliver a program of quality live and on-demand education in a highly flexible online environment.

This year’s conference is being held in association with the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry* (APCO), New Zealand Optometrists Association and New Zealand’s Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board.

Delegates are expected to attend from Australia, New Zealand and APCO countries located throughout the Asia-Pacific as well as Canada and the United States.

This year’s conference is being hosted on a new digital platform that will create a superior experience for registration, attendance and networking.

Created by optometrists for optometrists, and with up to 30 hours of education on offer, Optometry Virtually Connected  provides delegates with the opportunity to super-charge their education requirements over one weekend. Importantly, all live keynote presentations and on-demand courses are supported by the latest peer-reviewed, evidence-based research, and quality assured by Optometry Australia’s Institute of Excellence. The full education program is available to view on the event website.

This year’s conference will be opened by Professor Sohail Inayatullah, an Australian academic and one of the world’s leading future studies researchers.

The 2.5-day program, commencing at 2:00pm AEST on Friday 18 June, also enables delegates to visit the virtual product showcase to explore the latest patient management technology, products and services on the market from leading optometric suppliers.

As the ongoing incidence of coronavirus causes disruption globally, Optometry Virtually Connected provides delegates with the opportunity to be part of a global conference without the need to leave the safety and comfort of your home or practice. The event offers ultimate flexibility allowing you to maintain personal and work commitments, including patient appointments, throughout the conference.

It will also provide you with the opportunity to connect and network with fellow delegates from around the world.

And, with goals to reduce our sector’s impact on the planet, Optometry Virtually Connected helps us to lessen our collective environmental footprint.
