Activity Outline

2 ophthalmologists presenting 3 topics face to face with powerpoint. Attendees will be divided into smaller groups for interactive case study discussion. Total 3 hour duration including refreshments.

Learning Objectives

• Make judgements from the presentation of potential refractive surgery patients and patients who have undergone treatment
• Critically evaluate a refractive surgery patient's problems and exercise professional judgement in patient management
• Be equipped to provide an unbiased view of the various forms of refractive surgery available and advise on the suitability of particular procedures for that patient
• Be aware of the new and upcoming refractive surgery procedures
• Develop clinical problem-solving skills in the area of refractive surgery
• Able to manage and care for a refractive pt after surgery
• Diagnose the aetiology of vitreous floaters
• Have knowledge about the management of the floaters
• Understand signs and symptoms of pathology associated with the vitreous body
• Manage in partnership with an ophthalmologist a pseudophakic patient
• Treat and manage cataract patients
• Be aware of various refractive options pre and post cataract surgery
