Learning Objectives

• At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the benefits of the chop technique, understand pre-chopping devices and understand the phaco double chop technique.
• At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the indications for LALEX, recognize the contraindications for LALEX surgery, understand the risks and benefits of LALEX surgery, and understand what different LALEX platforms have to offer.
• At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to determine the clinical need for a new class of intraocular lens, understand the different types of Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF), and the clinical indications/contraindications to EDOF.
• At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand management of lens dislocation, cataract surgery after refractive surgery/radial keratectomy, and an anterior segment approach to management of difficult cataracts.
• At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand pre-operative consideration, IOL selection and surgical considerations.
