  • How optometrists in the community can manage patient refractive expectations after cataract surgery
  • Have a better understanding of the causes of refractive surprise and managing patient vision following surgery.
  • How to debunk myths about IOL selection and cataract surgery
  • How to coach patients with other ocular pathology in their visual expectations vs reality of surgery outcomes
  • Prepare patients at the referral stage indicating why some IOLs may not suitable for certain ocular pathologies
  • Identify ocular issues that should be addressed prior to cataract surgery, and explain to the patient why
  • Pathways for deciding when more than drops are required for your post-cataract surgery dry eye patients
  • Using case studies to identify signs of ocular conditions which can rapidly deteriorate without intervention
  • Using case study to have increased confidence in managing unusual presentations
  • Live surgical theatre simulation to better inform patients of how the surgery process works
