Join us for an engaging educational evening hosted by our Casey Eye Centre team. This event is designed to give you the chance to interact with our ophthalmologists and have an opportunity to catch up with your peers. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about advanced diagnostic technology, and gain valuable insights in a friendly, welcoming environment whilst enjoying a sit down dinner.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss for the use of focal and targeted laser therapy for the treatment of a variety of retinal conditions
- Develop a diagnostic knowledge base to screen and diagnose macular conditions that may be amenable to laser therapy
- Develop an understanding of focal laser therapy as an safe and effective therapeutic alternative to other common treatments, such as intravitreal injections
- Discuss the current available treatments for geographic atrophy in clinical practice in Australia
- Educate and assess patients receiving intravitreal injections, including: -Anaesthesia -Effects on vision -Common side-effects and precautions -Treatment extension, cessation and failure
- Discuss some of the laser and surgical treatment modalities available in contemporary glaucoma practice
- Understand the decision-making process for proceeding with glaucoma surgery
