Learning Objectives

  • To gain an understanding of the potential challenges of cataract surgery in the setting of keratoconus
  • To review the pre- and post-operative management of patients who have a history of herpes keratitis and due to undergo cataract surgery
  • To update candidates on management of cataract and intraocular lens options in the setting of prior corneal laser refractive procedures (LASIK, PRK, SMILE, RK).
  • Gain an understanding of the risk factors and diagnostic markers of malignant melanoma
  • Describe the assessment and management of conjunctival and eyelid melanoma
  • Become aware of the paradigm shift and advances in the treatment of malignant melanoma
