Learning Objectives

  • 1. To better understand the changes of keratoconus in patients as they age 2. To better understand what treatment is appropriate for patients based on their degree of keratoconus and age
  • 1. Assess patients with co-existent retinal disease and cataracts 2. Understand management options for patients with co-existent retinal disease and cataracts
  • 1. To understand the factors involved in deciding which type of IOL to use for a particular patient, and how the optometrist can assist by treating dry eye prior to the ophthalmologist visit 2. To understand the latest SMILE data and the patients that might be suitable for this procedure
  • 1. To gain a better understanding of how to interpret OCT images in glaucoma and the values that constitute significant change 2. To be able to differentiate between a potential pathological condition on an OCT report and an unusual but not pathological OCT report.
