Learning Objectives

  • To practice simulated removal of corneal foreign body in pigs eyes.
  • To practice lacrimal lavage on participants eyes.
  • To revisit contemporary management of proliferative diabetic retinopathy
  • To understand the different MF IOL design options available currently available
  • To understand contraindications of foreign body removal including the observation of an abnormally shaped pupil, lacerations, penetrating wounds or hyphema, and recognise situations where the optometrist is not confident in its removal.
  • To understand contraindications of lacrimal lavage including acute dacryocystitis and acute canaliculitis.
