The Optometry Education Conference is a signature education event for Optometrists on the Sunshine Coast.
The event will be held on Sunday 27 July at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort.

Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate confidence in discussing and recommending appropriate intraocular lens options for patients with macular pathology
- Evaluate when to refer cases of eyelid or orbital disease for urgent ophthalmological review
- Describe the clinical features of common and uncommon ocular conditions presented
- Analyse the clinical presentation of ocular surface neoplasia and pterygium, apply appropriate pre-surgical medical management, and evaluate the impact of astigmatism causes and correction strategies on lens surgery planning
- Understand key signs of critical retinal conditions
- Summarise the diagnostic steps taken and explain their clinical relevance
- Recognise anterior segment emergencies that require urgent management escalation
- Explain the rationale behind the treatment and management decisions made in the presented ophthalmic cases
