Join us for PrescrEYEbing—a session of collaborative learning and networking between the professions of pharmacy and optometry. This unique event brings together members of Optometry Australia and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and is a chance to connect with your counterparts, share insights, and explore how we can work together more effectively to deliver better patient care.
Learning Objectives
- Identify patients who would benefit from referral/a collaborative approach to their eye health care, through understanding of pharmacist’s role beyond medicine supply and optometrist’s role beyond prescribing glasses and eyedrops.
- Employ good prescribing practices of both PBS and non-PBS medication
- Understand how to navigate the PBS and check medication availability.
- Understand ocular complications and side effects of different medications.

Josh Cooper |
Josh graduated from Curtin University in 2022, and moved to complete his internship in regional Maryborough, where he was awarded the 2023 Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Victoria intern of the year. Josh has passion for rural health, aged care and fostering engagement within early career pharmacists where he has been running events as an early career pharmacist social chair. |

Avish is a therapeutically endorsed optometrist in South-East Melbourne, where he has worked since he graduated from the Doctor of Optometry at the University of Melbourne in 2017. Avish has worked across corporate and independent practice, with a keen focus on collaborative care within the local communities to which he works. |
