Brought to you by South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, Centre for Eye Health, and Optometry NSW/ACT: Everything you need to know about referring to public hospitals in the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

This event is essential for any practising optometrist who refers to public hospitals in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD)

Featuring Dr Michael Hennessy (Prince of Wales), A Prof Andrew Chang (Sydney Eye & St George), Dr Nagi Assaad (Sutherland) and Michael Yapp (CFEH), this event is designed to ensure that your patients receive the best possible care from the public health system and that waiting times for ophthalmology care are minimised.

Speakers will present essential information such as who, how and when to refer, what to include in your referral, and how to best manage patients asking for a second opinion or an alternative to their existing private ophthalmology care for financial reasons. The new State-wide Ophthalmology Referral Guidelines will also be discussed.

Importantly, a panel Q&A discussion will address your burning questions about public hospital referrals.
