Activity Outline
This educational evening will feature presentations from four ophthalmologists covering a range of retinal topics, including pachychoroid spectrum diseases, central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), secondary choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM), medical retina, and the ocular effects of Plaquenil. The evening will conclude with an interactive trivia session focused on refractive surgery.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the clinical features and imaging characteristics of pachychoroid spectrum diseases with a focus on central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) and secondary choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM) and differentiate these conditions from other retinal pathologies.
- Understand the ocular effects of Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine), including current screening recommendations, risk stratification, and the role of optometrists in early detection of retinal toxicity.
- Apply evidence-based management and co-management strategies for patients with medical retina diseases, including appropriate referral pathways and follow-up protocols.
- Enhance knowledge of refractive surgery principles and patient suitability.
