The In-person workshop following the online component is on assessment, techniques and case discussions.
The FBV Program provides:
A model of care that makes sense, is easy to follow, and can be built on in the future.
An increased skill set to observe patients and collect data.
A pathway for building confidence to make sure you can continue to put what you learn into action.

Learning Objectives
- 1.1 Recall the adaptive responses in the accommodation-vergence relationship.
- 1.2 Review the pain adaptation theory applied to accommodation-vergence adaptation.
- 1.3 Explain the common themes in near-point stress models
- 2.1 Illustrate an appropriate case history
- 2.2 Perform unilateral and alternating cover tests.
- 2.3 Perform a comprehensive near point of convergence assessment, including Red-Green lens testing.
- 2.4 Assess the effect of adding plus; repeating a cover test after NPC testing; and assess whether the NPC has changed.
- 2.5 Express what these results mean about phoria measures.
- 3.1 Review the protocol of analytical vergence and accommodation workups.
- 3.2 Practice live analytical and free space vergence and accommodation assessment.
- 3.3 List practice results and record findings for later review and interpretation.
- 4.1 Interpret vergence and accommodation assessment results and recognise any patterns which emerge
- 4.2 Demonstrate the use of near additions, and the resulting changes in accommodation and vergence function.
- 4.3 Perform near retinoscopy techniques
- 4.4 Review case reports of history and vergence, convergence and accommodation function assessments.
- 5.1 Describe options for prescribing decisions at near in treating accommodative-convergence dysfunctions
- 5.2 Restate vision therapy principles for treatment of accommodative-convergence dysfunctions
- 5.3 Practice yoked prism assessment, demonstrate Z- axis saccades, perform minus lens activities, roleplay vectogram activities
- 5.4 Discuss cases including practical application of assessments and application of lens and/or vision therapy treatments
