  • Understand the steps involved in cataract surgery
  • explain the role of the contemporary intra-ocular IOLs and why they suit many but not all patients
  • have increased confidence in evaluating what is normal post operatively in cataract surgery and when to seek further input
  • have increased confidence in evaluating what is normal post operatively in vitre-retinal surgery and when to seek further input
  • be able to explain to patients what to expect on the day of surgery
  • understand the steps involved in an elective posterior vitrectomy
