Activity Outline

This workshop explores clinical cases featuring common presentations, with topical prescribing as the primary focus and oral therapy introduced where clinically appropriate. We will review key oral agents such as antivirals and antibiotics in the context of conditions like HZO, HSK, and preseptal cellulitis, while also covering contraindications and considerations for special populations.

Learning Objectives

  • Select appropriate topical agents for common anterior segment conditions and describe when topical therapy is insufficient and oral is required
  • Apply modern antiviral prescribing guidelines for herpetic disease
  • Distinguish preseptal from orbital cellulitis
  • Identify contraindications and high-risk patients and when to refer - and how urgently
