Learning Objectives

  • Describe to a patient an overview of the current options in IOL technology
  • Explain why not all IOLs suit all patients
  • Recognise red flags in the post operative course following cataract surgery
  • Initiate treatment for common issues, and know when to escalate
  • Give an overview of options for patients with refractive surprise
  • Describe the differences between AKC VKC and allergic conjunctivitis
  • Explain to a patient the clinical course of adenoviral conjunctivitis and other common infectious conjunctivitides
  • List the appropriate stepwise treatments for each types of conjunctivitis
  • Have increased confidence in picking up key signs in anterior and posterior segment disease
