Join us for an engaging CPD-accredited evening hosted by George St Eye Centre, designed to enhance your clinical skills in the practical management of anterior eye conditions. This interactive workshop will be led by two expert ophthalmologists:
Dr Kenneth Ooi – Cataract, Refractive & Complex Dry Eye Specialist, presenting a hands-on session on Foreign Body Removal.
Dr Edwin Figueira – Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgeon, discussing Management of Eye Lesions including diagnostic pearls and treatment pathways.
Attendees will benefit from live demonstrations, clinical case discussions, and practical tips that can be directly applied in optometric practice. A certificate will be provided upon attendance for CPD accreditation.

Learning Objectives
- Differentiate between benign and suspicious eye lesions requiring referral
- Recognise common presentations of chalazion, papillomas, and other eyelid lesions
- Formulate a management plan for patients presenting with anterior eye trauma
- Understand the indications for urgent vs. routine referral of eyelid and orbital lesions
- Apply infection control protocols during minor in-office ocular procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding foreign body risks, treatment, and aftercare
- Collaborate confidently with ophthalmologists when co-managing ocular surface pathology
- Develop a solid understanding of both the therapeutic medication and surgical management options in the treatment of dry eye
- Perform removal of a foreign body confidently
- Safely identify and manage superficial ocular foreign bodies in a clinical setting
- Perform appropriate techniques for foreign body removal using slit lamp and clinical tools
