Activity Outline
The CPD evening will consist of two interactive face to face lectures, delivered by Dr Peter Beckingsale (MBBS FRANZCO). The titles of the two topics covered are Foreign Body Removal and IOLs and Patient Selection. IOL and patient selection will have a workshop component where participants will get to handle IOLs and load them into an injecting cartridge.
Learning Objectives
- Learn various techniques and tools for removing corneal foreign bodies
- Develop strategies for post-removal care of corneal foreign bodies
- Understand different IOL types including monofocal, multifocal, EDoF, toric and variations within these subgroups
- Understand patient specific factors that will lead to selection of certain IOLs over others
- Experience handling IOLs and loading/injecting IOLs
