Activity Outline
The CPD activity will be in the form of three didactic presentations, with the opportunity for question and answer. The three presentations are:
Presentation 1 (7:00-7:30pm): Individualising refractive surgery - Dr Steve Wiffen
Presentation 2 (7:30-8:00pm): Increasing range of vision with extended depth of focus IOLst - Dr Andrea Ang
Presentation 3 (8:00-8:30pm): CAIRS surgery for keratoconus: Femtosecond laser-assisted and personalised - Dr Evan Wong
Learning Objectives
- Have a better idea of what factors need to be taken into consideration in planning refractive surgery.
- Understand what procedures are appropriate in what circumstances and advise patients who may not be suitable for refractive surgery
- Understand the different optical designs of EDOF IOLs and to understand the patient selection and counselling with EDOF lenses
- Understand the range of vision achieved and refractive outcomes of EDOF lenses
- Understand the indications for femto-CAIRS surgery
- To explore early outcomes, and understand current limitations of femto-CAIRS surgery
