Learning Objectives

  • 1.1 Develop an understanding of normal and abnormal retinal anatomy on OCT 1.2 Understand the benefits and limitations of OCT scans in retinal disease 1.3 Identify the features of wet and dry AMD and vitelliform dystrophy on OCT 1.4 Optimise patient care through appropriate referral triage of patients with AMD
  • Expand on you OCT scan acquisition skills through practical advice and demonstrations (workshop)
  • 3.1 Understand the risk factors and mechanism of retinal vein occlusion 3.2 Recognise the clinical and OCT features of acute and longstanding retinal vein occlusion (RVO) 3.3 Identify patients with RVO who would benefit from prompt active treatment 3.4 Understand the implications of retinal thinning on OCT in RVO 3.5 Develop an understanding of diagnostic tools used to diagnose RVO
  • 4.1 Understand the benefits and limitations of OCTA 4.2 Understand the benefits and limitations of FFA 4.3 Develop an understanding of which patients and clinical situations would benefit from OCTA and which would benefit more from OCTA 4.4 Practical advice, demonstration and hands-on teaching session on acquisition of OCTA scans
