Learning Objectives

  • Review a range of lesions presenting in the anterior and posterior segment, as well as on clinical imaging
  • Review clinical and diagnostic investigations that can be used to differentiate lesions
  • Review appropriate management of various lesions
  • Understand the range of presentations that affect the anterior segment
  • Discuss diagnostic & treatment algorithms that are needed for safe, high-quality outcomes for patients

  • When to refer to a pediatric ophthalmologist
  • To identify common benign skin eyelid lesions and their management
  • To identify common malignant skin eyelid lesions and their management
  • Tips to differentiate common eyelid lesions and when to refer to a specialist
  • Gain insight into cataract surgery and navigating it's challenges in a third-world country
  • Form a differential for diagnosing lesions of the peripheral cornea and limbus including ocular surface cancer
  • Know when to refer for conditions affecting the limbus
  • Institute management strategies to support limbal stem cells and corneal health
  • Take a deeper delve into the latest diagnostic challenges, clinical diagnostic work up and diagnostic devices and therapeutic/medical, laser and surgical management of current clinical topics topics and controversies in cataract,/refractive, glaucoma, complex anterior segment, macula and vitreoretinal disease.
