Learning Objectives

• At the end of Dr Sim's presentation, participants should be able to understand the rationale when cataract surgery is and is not the highest surgical priority when the patient returns from the ophthalmologist. They will also Have an understanding of the urgency to refer various non-cataract causes of poor vision in the setting of a visually significant cataract.
• Dr Griffits's presentation will cover these points: • Diabetic Retinopathy  Incidence  Risk Factors  Classification  Treatments: where we have come from and where we are now At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to identify the risk factors, classification, and contemporary treatments of Diabetic Retinopathy.
• At the completion of Dr Yates' presentation, participants should be able; 1. to explain the emerging lens technologies in ophthalmology and optometry. 2. Understand the emerging treatments for atrophic and neovascular aged related macula degeneration 3. basic understanding of genetic eye diseases 4. to explain to patients with suspected gene eye problems the possibility of therapies in the future
• At the completion of Dr Lee's presentation, participants should be able to; 1. Use imaging devices at their disposal in their practice to their maximum capacity. 2. Understand the range of latest diagnostic equipment available for patient management and care.
• Interactive 30 - 45min Questions and Assessment with Doctors (rotation). This will comprise of the attendees splitting up into 4 groups. Each group will spend 10-15mins with each presenter.
