Activity Outline

Optometrist reads Optometry Connection educational publication in print or online.

Optometrist logs into OA Institute of Excellence and completes assessment questions developed from articles in Optometry Connection.

Optometrist will receive immediate confirmation upon completion and CPD Hours will be uploaded to the Learning Plan of their CPD Portfolio.

Optometrists completing online assessment will be able to review incorrect answers and have an opportunity to repeat the assessment activity in line with adult learning principles and OBA guidelines.

Opportunity to provide feedback and commentary provided by standard OA Institute of Excellence CPD Activity Feedback Form.

  • Apply treatment and management strategies for scleritis
  • Understand the role of eye swabbing in optometric practice
  • Outline the role of ultra-widefield imaging in regional practice
  • Recognise the use of multimodal retinal imaging to examine microvascular changes
  • Outline key features of cat-scratch disease (CSD)
  • Understand therapeutic considerations for contact lens-induced papillary conjunctivitis (CLPC)
  • Identify different steroid medications in the treatment of dry eye disease
