Learning Objectives

  • Rosine Ung: "Endophthalmitis and Uveitis" 1.At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to therapeutically manage anterior uveitis patients. 2. At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand that systemic conditions can be associated with anterior and posterior uveitis. 3. At the completion of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the clinical presentation and therapeutic management of endophthalmitis.
  • Dr Sharon Morris : " Surgical Blepharoplasty" 1. At the end of the CPD activity, participants should be able to be more aware of conditions that need careful consideration of Blepharoplasty-upper and lower lid. 2. At the end of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand the risks and expected outcomes. 3. At the end of the CPD activity, participants should be able to understand how patients are marked up and the surgical techniques used.
  • Dr Heather Russell: " Modern Cataract Surgery" 1. Confidently discuss IOL refractive options with your patient, including the pros and cons of each option. 2. Be aware of the surgical options available for existing pseudophakic patients with monofocal IOL's who would now like spectacle independence. 3. Know what glaucoma patients would be suitable candidates for the insertion of iStent inject ( MIGS device-Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery) in conjunction with cataract surgery.
  • Dr Asyraaf Kadir: " What is all the hype about Photodynamic therapy?" 1.Participants .should be able to demonstrate the mechanism of action of Photodynamic therapy (PDT) 2.Participants should be able to demonstrate when PDT may be appropriate for patients with wet AMD that is resistant to anti- VEGF as a stand alone procedure. 3.Participants should be able to discuss PDT in the management of appropriate patients with diagnoses of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy,CSR and other diseases.
  • Dr Robert Bourke: " Retinal Detachment" 1. Participants should understand what PVR is. 2. Know what the potential outcomes from retinal detachment and retinal detachment surgery are. 3. Understand the pros and cons of various tamponade agents used in retinal detachment surgery.
