Learning Objectives

  • To identify the ocular signs and symptoms that could be associated with medical emergencies.
  • To understand the appropriate referral pathway for patients presenting with potentially life threatening conditions.
  • To recognise features of benign versus malignant eyelid lesions.
  • To understand the process a patient will go through during and after surgery for eyelid lesions.
  • To discuss current limitations in the management of patients with neovascular AMD.
  • To introduce the newest anti-VEGF agent for neovascular AMD- Brolucizumab (Beovu).
  • To discuss factors associated with successful collaborative care in patients with glaucoma.
  • To highlight possible limitations of a shared-care glaucoma arrangement.
