- recognize the signs and symptoms of retinal detachment and retinal emergencies
- understand visual outcome and patient management post retinal detachment surgery
- understand the gene mutation in association with specific retinal diseases
- understand the association between retinal diseases and inheritance patterns
- treat dry eyes with various methods including lubricants, plugs, topical steroids and eye masks
- treat dry eyes with procedures including IPL, Blephasteam or Lipiflow (or refer to these treatments)
- understand the possible diagnosis for red eye diseases
- understand the treatments associated with red eye diseases and initiate treatment where possible
- refer where required for further treatment or glaucoma co-management
- understand visual outcome and patient management post glaucoma surgery
- refer where required for ophthalmic intervention of ocular lesions
- understand the nature of keratoconus and associated risk factors
- understand the surgical procedure of UV Crosslinking
