Activity Outline
Dr Walker and Dr Tran will be presenting reports and reviews of retinal and ophthalmic cases of relevance from clinical practice to optometrists with an emphasis on therapeutic considerations with plenty of time for discussion.
This unique event will also provide attendees the opportunity to submit or present any ophthalmic (general & retinal) cases in which they wish to discuss issues regarding diagnosis or management.
The aim is to encourage discussion amongst colleagues about common, complex or interesting retina cases encountered in the community. It will provide an opportunity for optometrists to submit cases to the doctors who will review and present the chief diagnostic and therapeutic considerations. Presentations by the host will be case-based and will additionally involve questions/polls that are designed to initiate discussion on participants’ past experiences, current preferences and best utilisation of the evidenced-based standard of care.
These events are designed for small groups – the maximum capacity at each event is 18 attendees.
Each session will be held in a private function room with a screen for presenting cases, as well as points for discussion and therapeutic management considerations.
Furthermore, participants are invited to present cases for discussion. The event is designed to be a small group discussion based on real-world cases. There will be direct and continuous engagement between attendees and hosts for the entire 2.5-Hour session that will involve detailed, evidenced-based discussion on diagnostic and management issues.
We expect that at least 50% of the event (ie. over 1 Hour) will be an interactive component with discussion and the direct and continuous exchange of information between the hosts and attendees to be the main purpose of each event
