Activity Outline

The course consists of 3 presentations including patient case studies, clinical images, OCT scans and videos. 

Small group session to promote interaction.

Presentation 1 (6:15-7:15pm): Advanced insights into retinal case studies - Dr Mark Gorbatov

Presentation 2 (7:15-8:15pm): Peripheral Retinal Lesions - Dr Kwon Kang

Presentation 3 (8:15-9:15pm): Central Visual Loss - A Retinal perspective - Dr Vicky Lu

Learning Objectives

  • Interpret Advanced Imaging Modalities in the context of retina case studies.
  • Analyse Complex Retinal Pathologies through detailed examination of case studies.
  • Formulate Differential Diagnoses for challenging retina cases
  • Identify and Classify Common Peripheral Retinal Lesions
  • Understand the Pathophysiology underlying peripheral retinal lesions, including their association with vitreoretinal traction and predisposition to retinal detachment.
  • Evaluate Risk Factors and Prognosis associated with peripheral retinal lesions and understand their implications for the development of retinal complications such as tears, detachments, and vision loss.
  • Identify and Classify Conditions Leading to Central Visual Loss.
  • Evaluate Treatment options available for central visual loss from a retina perspective and expected outcomes.
  • Discuss Prognosis and Management Strategies associated with central visual loss conditions, including factors influencing visual outcomes
