Activity Outline
The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital are hosting an optometry webinar series. Each webinar will provide an update on the diagnosis and management of important eye disorders, and guidelines for referrals to the hospital.
The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital Emergency Department sees an average of 145 patients each day, with approximately two-thirds presenting with eye-related conditions. In this session, Dr Stephenie Tiew will discuss common ophthalmic presentations seen in the emergency setting, including key assessment considerations and management pathways. She will also present selected interesting and complex cases from the Emergency Department, highlighting clinical decision-making, escalation points and practical learning relevant to optometry practice.
