Activity Outline

Scientia Professor Fiona Stapleton will describe the latest evidence-base from newly published literature related to dry eye disease, on its definition, diagnosis and management, along with an update on interdisciplinary elements such as its epidemiology, pathophysiology, the tear film and the role of sex, gender and hormones. 

Following that, explore the impact of lifestyle factors on dry eye symptoms in this Alcon session, drawing on key recommendations from TFOS DEWS III and their practical application in clinical settings. Discover how life events - such as ocular surgery and prolonged digital device use - can affect ocular surface health and examine the evidence supporting the use of lubricating eye drops through the lens of TFOS DEWS III. Gain a deeper understanding of the pathophysiological differences between aqueous deficient  dry  eye and evaporative dry Eye and learn about the clinical relevance of Alcon’s lubricating eye drops within the TFOS DEWS III recommendations.
