Learning Objectives
- understand and gain more information on all the new drugs that have been PBS approved for treatment of AMD and DME. This will allow optometrists to better counsel and guide their patients who may have questions based on either their own antiVEGF change now or may have freiends and family whose regime/drug delivered may have changed.
- Better refract patients who have been implanted with the newer age EdoF or trifocal lenses, which behave differently to standard monofocals
- Understand outcomes of the ATOM study & how myopia management with atropine has been modified over time to improve skills in co-managing this condition with the paediatric ophthalmologist
- Co-manage paediatric eye diseases with associated refractive errors, amblyopia and strabismus
- Improve skills in pre-op counselling & establishing postop refractive targets and managing expectations and side effects
