Provider: Talking Eyes with Lien Trinh

Activity Outline

In this Talking Eyes practitioner episode, host Lien Trinh is joined by three leaders in the field: Prof Laura Downie, A/Prof Holly Chinnery and Megan Zabell. Together, they unpack a practical “dry eye playbook” that links real-world assessment and management with the science shaping what’s next.

You’ll hear how the Frontier Research Centre is accelerating translational discovery, how to tackle a common clinical challenge where symptoms and signs don’t correlate, and how to build a streamlined diagnostic pathway. Updates are layered in from TFOS DEWS III to help clinicians connect expert insights with current global recommendations, providing pragmatic prescribing pearls, including recognising key risk factors, subtyping evaporative vs aqueous-deficient (and mixed) disease, and choosing tear supplements with intent. You’ll also get a forward look at emerging point-of-care diagnostics like ADMIER, aiming to rapidly diagnose and subtype dry eye from a microlitre tear sample.

Ideal for optometrists wanting a clearer, faster, evidence-aligned approach to dry eye care.
