Learning Objectives

  • Develop a broad understanding of diabetic care
  • Learn about new drugs for T2DM: Glitazones, GLP-1 analogues, SGLT-2 inhibitors & DPP-4 inhibitors
  • Develop an understanding of new approaches in T1DM: Continuous glucose monitoring, Insulin pump therapy & New insulins
  • Develop a better understanding of the management of diabetes in Pregnancy, Hypertension & Hyperlipidaemia
  • Recognize recent advances in cataract surgery
  • Review the evidence in order to determine whether some of the newer technologies make a difference
  • Develop a better understanding of the emerging therapeutic options in cataract surgery
  • Develop a better understanding of how the carbon footprint of cataract surgery may be able to be reduced
  • Review the evidence for office-based cataract surgery and immediate sequential bilateral cataract surgery
