She is also the Clinical Skills Teacher in Optometry at Deakin University and works within the Australian College of Optometry’s specialist clinics. She has worked and volunteered extensively overseas, particularly in Cambodia and Vietnam.

Since 2014, Simon has worked with Optometry Australia, representing the profession to the Federal Government on key issues, including Medicare and private health insurance, in his capacity as National Professional Development and Clinical Policy Manager. Simon also locums regularly as a practicing clinician across Victoria.

Sophie has taught optometry students over the past decade and has had diverse experience working in both public health and corporate sectors across metro, rural and outback Australia. She has also had extensive experience working with ophthalmology teams and non-profit organisations in the Northern Territory, East Timor, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

Mark has nearly 20 years’ experience in developing strategic business relationships with eye health suppliers to help optometrists provide better patient care. Mark created and co-founded mivision ophthalmic journal in 2005 and mieducation in 2011. He was the editor and co-publisher of mivision before selling the title in late 2018 to launch his marketing communications business Fresh Media.
