The second World Congress of Optometry will be held in Hyderabad, India on 11-13 September 2017.

The conference is an initiative of the World Council of Optometry, in partnership with the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry and the India Vision Institute.

Registrations received by 31 March for the congress will receive a discount.

The 2017 theme is ‘Accessible, quality vision and eye health’, which aligns with the World Health  Organization Universal Eye Health: A global action plan 2014 2019 which is targeting a 25 per cent reduction in avoidable blindness before 2020.

Congress speakers include Peter Swann, former Associate Professor at the Queensland University of Technology School of Optometry and Vision Science, where he continues to teach part time. He is a former editor of Clinical and Experimental Optometry.
