A survey is investigating experiences in job-seeking and the early years of working as an optometrist.

Optometry Australia is surveying those who completed their optometry qualification in 2014, 2015 and early 2016 to understand the conditions new optometrists face when looking for work and in their early careers.

Information from the survey will be used to determine how Optometry Australia can best support students and new graduates, as well as directing our advocacy on behalf of the profession.

All survey responses will be deidentified. Graduates who complete the survey will go into a draw to win one of 10 Hoyts gift cards worth $40 each.

Graduates were sent an email containing a link to the survey on 29 March. The survey, which takes 10 minutes to complete, closes on 19 April 2016.

For information about the survey, contact national policy manager Skye Cappuccio at s.cappuccio@optometry.org.au.
