Medical Sailing Ministries is planning a return to Vanuatu this year and is calling for volunteer optometrists to join its team.

Sailing from Melbourne to Sydney in May, and then from Sydney to Vanuatu and arriving in June, the medical team will visit a number of islands to provide health care.

Robert Latimer from Medical Sailing Ministries (MSM) said it will be their fourth sailing mission.

‘If we can get a few optometry volunteers aboard, literally, that would be fantastic. In addition to the usual clinics we are also conducting a national oral health survey, which has never been done before in Vanuatu,’ he said.

MSM will sail from Vanuatu back to Melbourne via Sydney in October-November.
