Learning Objectives

  • To develop an awareness for retinal effects of brain disease
  • To develop a deeper appreciation of OCT assessment
  • To develop an awareness of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease symptoms
  • To understand the impact dementia can have upon eyesight, participation in the routine eye test, and following eyecare advice at home
  • To understand the value of maximising eyesight in helping people living with dementia to stay independent and living in the community for as long as possible
  • To learn how eyecare professionals and carers can support people living with dementia to access eyecare, and key directions for future research
