- To further understand the causes of lid malposition.
- Recognise lid anomalies and the testing procedures to work up these presentations.
- Understand the factors indicating the need for surgical treatment of lid conditions.
- To identify common causes of eye misalignment and understand the possible visual consequences.
- Be able to assess, quantify and manage common presentations of eye misalignment.
- Further your knowledge on current treatment options available to optometrists to improve visual and functional outcomes in these patients.

Are you in the first ten years of your optometry degree? We know that when it comes to lids and turns that are out of the ordinary, you have so many questions. We have especially curated this session for those just starting out.
Meet your speakers:

Dr Kam is an eye surgeon and general ophthalmologist. He is a leader in complex cataract surgery, having completed a fellowship in cataract surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, and also has special interests in oculoplastic eyelid surgery and neuro-ophthalmology, having completed a second fellowship year at the Alfred Hospital.
He dedicates his time to both public and private work in Melbourne, and his private practice is located at the Epworth Eastern Hospital in Box Hill. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery awarded with Honours, and Bachelor of Medical Science also with Honours. |

Paul Croucher lectures at the University of Melbourne in the areas of strabismus, amblyopia and developmental problems in children and has previously taught in the Children’s Vision Clinic at the Australian College of Optometry. A partner at Croucher, Rateau and Chew Optometrists, Paul has authored a chapter on strabismus for a book published in the US. He has previously held the positions of Victorian State Director, National Secretary and National President of the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists. |
