Activity Outline
We will have 4 presenters on the following topics:
1. Intraocular lens selection: Refractive targets, Measurement, Contrast and Resolution - blending experience with expectations, needs, risks, functional outcomes and optical limits in the REAL WORLD (30min)
2. Glaucoma – Diagnostic pearls, data collection, imaging, management pathways and driving - how we do it (30min)
3. Cataract Outcomes – Performance Audit (15min)
4. Advanced Age Related Macula Degeneration: Early Risk Stratification to Stop the Progression - Test the Genome! (15min)
Learning Objectives
- 1. At the conclusion of Talk ONE attendees will have deep insight into the influence of scientific error upon refractive targets when selecting intraocular lens powers and why presenter chooses a special lens.
- 2. Upon completion of Talk ONE attendees will learn to critically evaluate intraocular lens optics from a new perspective: focusing on resolution, contrast sensitivity and spherical aberration.
- 3. By considering activities of daily living, mobility and cognitive function Talk ONE evaluates perspectives at the intersections between optic selection and honest, truthful, accurate, fearless advice.
- 4. By attending Talk TWO attendees will gain an opportunity to acquire new insights into the importance of high-fidelity data collection, structural trend line analysis, predictable proportionate treatment paradigms and fitness for driving.
- 5. By listening to Talk THREE attendees will hear a performance analysis of our intraocular lens surgery refractive outcomes and gain valuable insights into the benefits, risks, appropriate selection and expected outcomes of EDOF intraocular lenses.
- 6. After attending Talk FOUR attendees will be empowered by knowledge of a NEW gene sequencing clinical tool that Brisbane Eye Clinic has deployed in office to prevent macular blindness by using early risk stratification and lifestyle intervention strategies.
